Dr Cathy Whiteman General Practitioner
Dr Cathy Whiteman graduated from the University of Queensland in 1990. Her residencies were spent in Brisbane and Darwin before completing her GP training and becoming a Fellow of the Australian College of General Practitioners and Diplomate of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. Cathy lived and worked in the UK for two years where she gained her Certificate of Equivalent Experience. Cathy has done further training in mental health and family planning, and she enjoys seeing people of all ages and stages of the life span.
Dr Jenny Conn General Practitioner
Dr Jenny Conn graduated with Honours from Flinders University of South Australia. She received the Ciba-Geigy Prize for Top Final Year Graduating Student and went on to work widely in the clinical fields of Obstetrics & Gynaecology as well as Paediatrics. She was invited to join the panel of RACGP examiners and is active in teaching medical students.
Jenny finds the variety and breadth of general practice very rewarding and with a background of fitness instruction enjoys empowering people to optimise their health by focussing on regular exercise and a sensible diet.
Dr John Denzin General Practitioner
Dr John Denzin is a highly experienced General Practitioner who has been at our practice for over 20 years since May 1997, and is one of the longest standing Doctors. He is interested in all areas of medicine and is very much a true family general practitioner.
He enjoys exercise, bike riding and skiing. John is also a keen history buff and enjoys travel with his wife and family.
Dr Melanie Watson General Practitioner
Dr Melanie Watson enjoys all aspects of general practice having been practising for over 25 years. She has undertaken extra training in antenatal care and women’s health and can insert contraceptive devices.
Melanie’s interests are cooking, gardening and travel.
Dr Nimalan Subramaniam General Practitioner
MBBS (UQ) BSc MCFP FRACGP
Dr Nimalan Subramaniam enjoys all aspects of general practice with special interest and additional training in heart disease management and prevention, general medicine and geriatrics.
Dr Nimalan graduated from the University of Queensland with Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and later trained at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in all sub specialities of general medicine and cardiology (TTH). He is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP). He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of British Columbia (Vancouver, Canada).
He has been actively involved in teaching medical students and GP registrars (doctors in speciality training). He holds a training and teaching role with General Practice Training Queensland (GPTQ), the training body for speciality general practice training in QLD. Dr.Nimalan has held academic titles with the University of Queensland (UQ) School of Medicine, and Flinders University School of Medicine and is an invited OSCE examiner for final year medical students at UQ School of Medicine. Dr.Nimalan is a member of the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
Dr Nimalan enjoys travelling, is a keen chess player and, as a Sri Lankan by birth, he always love to play a game of cricket when time permits!
Dr Christina Wong General Practitioner
MBBS, FRACGP, BSc (Hons)
Dr Christina Wong graduated from medical school at Flinders University of South Australia in 1994. Thereafter she worked in various specialties in Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Adelaide and the Mater Misericordiae Adult, Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Brisbane. Dr Wong was awarded Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 1999. She worked in rural areas in St George and Boonah.
Dr Wong enjoys the diverse nature of General Practice from paediatrics to aged care and is qualified to provide obstetric share care. Originally born in Singapore, Dr Wong immigrated with her family to Australia in 1989. Besides English, Dr Wong speaks Cantonese and Mandarin.
Dr Angela Sinclair-Ford General Practitioner
Dr Angela Sinclair-Ford is an experienced General Practitioner who graduated from medical school in 1994 in the UK, and has worked in Brisbane and its surrounds for over 20 yrs. She is interested in all aspects of general practice including chronic disease management, and mental health. She also has wide experience in women’s health. Dr Angela completed her Diploma in Child Health in 2014 and especially enjoys adolescent health. She has previously been a tutor at UQ for medical students, and has a passion for educating and empowering all her patients. Dr Angela recharges by practising Pilates, walking in the bush and along the beach, and making chocolate cake.
Dr Richie Jaggi General Practitioner
Dr Richie Jaggi has been practising medicine for more than 20 years. After spending residency time in Emergency Medicine at Mater Hospital and Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and in ICU at The Prince Charles Hospital Brisbane, Dr Jaggi settled in general practice in Toowoomba. She completed Diploma in Child Health (University of Sydney) in 2011 and was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2013. Dr Jaggi is also an examiner for the RACGP clinical exams. Dr Jaggi enjoys all aspects of general practice with special interest in paediatrics, women’s health, chronic disease management (diabetes, hypertension, obesity), travel medicine and immunisations.
Dr Zara Vickers General Practitioner
Dr Zara Vickers joined our practice after finishing her RACGP training in early 2013. Prior to doing medicine she worked as a laboratory scientist. Dr Zara’s main interests are paediatrics, women’s health and procedural work such as contraceptive device insertions and skin lesion excisions. Her outside interests include horse riding, dog training and property renovations.
Dr Barbara Young General Practitioner
Dr Barbara Young holds undergraduate degrees in Business (Marketing) and Science (Biomedical Sciences, Immunology & Infectious disease) and completed her post graduate MBBS at the University of Queensland.
She momentarily considered other specialty training, but much preferred the specialty of General Practice for its diversity.
Throughout Covid, she locumed around regional Australia, but never found a practice she enjoyed as much as Indooroopilly General Practice so she stayed.
Dr Kristy Appadoo General Practitioner
Dr Kristy Appadoo is an experienced General Practitioner with a passion for Paediatrics, Adolescent Mental Health, Women’s Health, and chronic disease management.
A Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), Dr Appadoo has been practising as a GP for eight years, bringing a compassionate and skilled approach to her patients’ care. Her diverse background includes significant experience working in hospitals across Queensland in Emergency Medicine, Paediatrics, Neurology, and Mental Health.
Known for her dedication to adolescent and paediatric care, Dr. Appadoo prioritises holistic health strategies and preventive care, aiming to foster long-term wellness and resilience in her patients. Her empathetic nature and extensive expertise allow her to connect meaningfully with individuals and families, ensuring they receive comprehensive and personalised care.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Appadoo enjoys travelling, reading, and playing tennis, and she has a longstanding passion for horse riding.
Dr Matthew Ong General Practitioner
Dr Matthew Ong graduated from the University of Western Australia in 2011. He spent his residencies in Royal Perth Hospital and Armadale-Kelmscott Memorial Hospital before completing his GP training and becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2016. After spending several years as a GP in Perth, Dr Ong moved to the UK where he worked for 2½ years, continuing to expand his experience, skills and expertise, before returning to Australia.
Dr Ong is interested in all aspects of general practice and enjoys seeing people of all ages. He has particular interests in Men’s Health, Preventative Health and Chronic Disease Management, and has completed further training in medical acupuncture in 2020. He employs a holistic approach towards each individual and has a passion for empowering people to optimise their own health and lifestyle.
Dr Ong’s hobbies are exercise, hiking, coffee and travelling with his wife and family. He also enjoys playing musical instruments and has taught Tai Chi in both Australia and the UK. Originally born in Singapore, Dr Ong migrated with his family to Australia at the age of 9. Dr Ong also speaks fluent Mandarin.

Macy Kwan Accredited Practising Dietitian | Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician
Macy Kwan is an Accredited Practising Dietitian with nearly 4 years of experience working at GP clinics. She is passionate about supporting clients in managing chronic diseases, such as diabetes, fatty liver, and cardiovascular diseases. She provides evidence-based strategies and sensible nutrition counselling to assist clients in achieving their health goals. Macy cares about your overall well-being, including the psychological aspects of food and nutrition. In recent years, Macy has developed an interest in treating disordered eating and eating disorders, becoming a Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician in 2023. She hopes to create a safe space for clients to discuss their concerns about food and body image. Macy also has diverse knowledge in food and nutrition, having lived in multiple countries and speaking three languages, including English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
Outside of nutrition, she is a foodie, a travel lover, and a Formula 1 fan.
